Abstract

[Objective] To investigate the role of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)in early risk stratification of patients with acute coronary syndrome of non-ST-segment elevation, and to find the patients with high risks.[Methods] The level of BNP in 62 patients with acute coronary syndromes of non-ST elevation from Jan.2007 to Jul.2007 in the Shengjing Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University were measured, and the lesion extent of coronary artery was assessed by angiography.Sixty-day follow-up was performed for all patients.[Results]The higher BNP level in patients was related to multivessel coronary artery disease and poor prognosis(P0.05).[Conclusion]The measurement of BNP is available for the early risk stratification of patients with acute coronary syndrome of non-ST elevation.Early BNP measurement could provide more prognostic information.
