Abstract

An analytical method for simultaneous determination of 16 trace elements in food additives edible TiO2 including Be,Mg,Al,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Ni,Cu,Zn,As,Cd,Sb,Ba,Hg and Pb by octopole reaction system inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ORS-ICP-MS)has been established.Samples were decomposed by HNO3 and HF followed by dilution with ultrapure water then the above 16 elements in the solution was analyzed directly by ORS-ICP-MS.The use of ORS can eliminate the interference of polyatomic ions dramatically. The optimum conditions for the determination was tested and discussed. The method was shown to be very sensitive with limits of quantification in the range of 0.002~0.186 μg/g for all investigated elements, the recovery of the samples was in the range of 92.2%~109.2% and the relative standard deviation(RSD)less than 3.38%.
