Abstract
Five compounds were isolated from the rootsof Paeonia veitchii L.. Their structures were eluci-dated by spectral analysis, and chemical evidence asβ-sitosterol(Ⅰ), β-sitosterol-α-glucoside(Ⅱ),paeoniflorin(Ⅲ), oxypaeoniflorin(Ⅳ)and sucrose(Ⅴ). Ⅱ and Ⅴ were found from this plant for thefirst time. Seven compounds of petroleum ether ex-tract were identified by GC-MS analysis as nonade-cane, ethyl palmitate, palmic acid, cis-△~(9.12)-oc-tadecadienotic acid, tetracosane, pentacosane andhexacosane.
