Abstract
The present paper presents 7 new species of the genus Yezoceryx Uchida collectedfrom Fujian, Guangxi and Yunnan provinces, China. The type specimens are depositedin the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica. 1.Yezoceryx breviclypeus,sp.nov. Female: Front wing 6.5 mm long. This species resembles Yezoceryx intermedia Sonan and Y.continuus Chiu, butmay be separated from the former by its entirely dark.brown to black thorax and nar-rower and longer subgenital plate, clearly surpassing the apex of abdomen, and fromthe latter by its temple in dorsal view not swollen behind the eye,the distance betweenintercubitus and second recurrent vein about 1 time the length of the former, and theabdominal tergite 1 about 2.7 times as long as apical width. Holotype, Chong'an county (Fujian),1960. 2. Yezoceryx U-maculosus, sp. nov. Female: Front wing 10 mm long. This species is separable from its congeners by the presence of a black macula onthe median lobe and an U-macula on the lateral lobes of mesoscutum, the occipitalcarina near lateral ocelli, the abdominal tergite 1 about 1.5 times as long as its apicalwidth, and the apical margin of abdominal sternite 1 near base of ventral swelling. Holotype ,Xishuang-banna (Yunnan),1958;allotype and paratype 1 1,ditto. 3. Yezoceryx cristaexcels, sp. nov. Female: Front wing 7.3 mm long. Closely related to Yezoceryx U-maculosus Wang, but different by: thorax all yellow-brown, without black maculation; upper margin of face with a projection between an-tennal sockets; face densely punctate, without transverse wrinkles; second lateral areaof propodeum clearly defined. Holotype , Xishuang-banna (Yunnan),1958; allotype and paratype ,ditto. 4. Yezoceryx breviculus,sp. nov. Female: Front wing 8 mm long. This species resembles Yezoceryx cristaexcels Wang, in color, but differs in inter-antennal carina of frons clearly extending to center of face, being thoroughy projectedon upper margin of it; face with coarse punctures; lower tooth of mandible a littlelonger than upper tooth; malar space as long as width of mandible; basal area of pro-podeum square, part from center to end of areola-petiola area polished, base and sidesof it with clearly irregular rugae; the distance between intercubitus and second recur-rent vein about 0.3 time the length of the former;subgenital plate shorter and broad, just extending to apex of abdomen;ovipositor shorter and 0.75 thae as long as hindtibia. Holotype ,Lancang county (south Yunnan),1957. 5. Yezoceryx daqingshanensis,sp.nov. Male:Front wing 8 mm long. This species is related to Yezoceryx cristaexcels Wang, but is different from thelatter mainly by: body yellowish brown: 3 lobes of mesoscutum, larger longitudinalmaceula on center of mesopleurum and lower smaller macula, base of propodeum, upperbase of hind coxae, half of the base of abdominal tergite 1 being all dark brown; lowertooth of mandible a little longer than upper tooth; prepectal carina extending to sub-tegular ridge; basal area of propodeum small, nearly square, its basal transverse carinacurved, second lateral area not clearly defined;the distance between intercubitus andsecond recurrent vein about 1 time the length of former. Holotype ,Daqingshan, Longzhou county (south Guangxi),1963. 6. Yezoceryx corporalis, sp. nov. Male: Front wing 4.5 mm long. This species resembles Yezoceryx cristaexcels Wang, but differs from it by: bodydark yellow, face and clyeus light yellow, coxae, trochanters, extreme base of femora.and tibia of hind legs, and abdominal tergites 3-6 all brown;antenna as long as body;occipital carina a little far off lateral ocelli; malar space as long as width of mandible;lower tooth of mandible a little longer than upper tooth; basal area of propodeum.square;abdominal tergite 1 narrower and longer, about 3.2 times as long as apical width;the distance between intercubitus and second recurrent vein about 1.2 times the lengthof the former. Holotype ,Xishuang-banna (Yunnan),1958. 7. Yezoceryx jinpingensis,sp.nov. Female: Front wing 9 mm long. This species is similar to Yezoceryx intermedia Sonan, but differs from it inhavi
