Comparative Analysis of Renal Artery Stenosis Diagnosis by CE-MRA and CTA

Objective To assess the value of the three-dimensional dynamic contrast-enhanced MR angiography(CEMRA) and CT angiography(CTA) in the diagnosis of renal artery stenosis.Methods Thirty consecutive patients suspected of renal artery stenosis were studied with both CE-MRA and CTA,and fifteen patients confirmed with stenosis underwent DSA at the same time.Then comparative analysis of CE-MRA and CTA imaging on the display of renal artery stenosis was performed.Results There was no significant difference to determine renal artery stenosis between CE-MRA and CTA(P0.05).In the diagnosis of renal artery stenosis,the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value of CE-MRA was slightly lower than CTA.Conclusions With the same diagnosis value as CTA,CE-MRA,being nonradiative and safe,is more appropriate for the diagnosis of the renal artery stenosis.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2012,33(6):65-66]
