Empirical Analysis on Consumption Structure of Urban Residents in Shaanxi Province

By using cross-section data of urban residents' consumption structure in Shaanxi province in 2005,this paper applies extend linear expenditure system(ELES) model on the analysis of basic consumption expenditure,marginal consumption tendency and consumption elasticity,then finds there are some problems,such as consistently relative high Engel coefficient,slack residents' consumption,lower housing consumption,less proportion of social consumption.This paper provides various strategies and suggestions to promote the consumption structure rationalization,comprising proper guidance for residents' consumption,enhancing of urban residents' income,adjusting of industrial structure,expanding of consumption scopes and constructing of active consumption system.
