Abstract
Consumption is considered as one of three horses to drive the economy,but the consumption structure of residents plays an important role in the economic development and social stability.This paper analyzes the present condition of income and consumption structure from the aspects of urban residents' consumption rate,percentage of consumption expenditure and Engel's coefficient,and then quantitatively analyzes urban residents' marginal propensity to consume and income elasticity of demand by ELES model,aiming at advancing countermeasures to optimize the consumption structure of Xinjiang urban residents.
