Phacoemulsification in Complicated Cataract Due to Uveitis

Abstract

Objective To investigate methods and the therapeutic effect of phacoemulsification in complicated cataract due to uveitis.Methods Phacoemulsification with implantation of fodable posterior chamber IOL was performed on 58 patients through a corneal incision.Results After follow-up 3 months,postoperatively,there was a little inflammatory reaction on 5eyes,all the pupils were recovered to normal size.The visual acuity at postoperative 1 month was ≥0.5 in 45 eyes(77.59%),0.3~0.4 in 8 eyes(13.79%),0.05~0.2 in 3 eyes(5.17%)and 0.05 in 2 eyes(3.45%).Conclusion We applied Phacoemulsification and fodable posterior chamber IOL implantation surgery at all cases without pupil incision,there was little inflammatory reaction and the visual acuity was satisfactory.
