Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in complicated cataract due to uveitis.

Abstract
Objective To estimate the therapeutic effect of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens(IOL) implantation in complicated cataract due to uveitis.Methods Phacoemulsification with implantation of posterior chamber IOL was performed on 26 eyes of 26 patients through a corneal incision.Results Postoperatively,there was little inflammatory reaction on 2 eyes,all the pupils were recovered to normal size.The visual acuity at postoperative 1 month was ≥0.5 in 20 eyes(76.92%),0.3-0.4 in 4 eyes(15.38%) and 0.05 in 2 eyes(7.69%).Conclusions After cataract with uveitis was treated by phacoemulsification,there was little inflammatory reaction and the visual acuity was satisfactory.
