Relationship among blood glucose,insulin levels and severity of coronary heart disease

Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship among blood glucose,insulin levels and severity of coronary heart disease(CAD).Methods:The 55 patients whose blood pressure was normal were confirmed suffer from CAD by coronary angiography(CAD group),22 patients whose blood pressure was normal were confirmed normal coronary artery by coronary angiography.The blood lipid,insulin were measured;the fasting blood glucose,blood glucose and plasma insulin after taking glucose were measured in all patients.Results:The fasting blood glucose,the blood glucose of 120 min after taking glucose and the plasma insulin of 30 min,60 min,120 min and 180 min after taking glucose in CAD group were obviously higher than those of the normal cortrol group(P0.05~0.01).The blood glucose,plasma insulin levels of multi-branch lesion group were more than those of simple-branch group(P0.05~0.01);the blood glucose,plasma insulin levels of coronary artery score ≥3 group were more than those of coronary artery score≤2 group(P0.05~0.01).Conclusion:The levels of blood glucose and serum insulin may reflect severity of coronary artery lession.
