Abstract

Objective To analyze the efficacy and hard tissue changes after dual-phase treatment of permanent teeth skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion. Methods The early permanent due to inadequate or maxillary retrusion of skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion 20 patients from January 2000 to December 2007,all with dual-phase treatment, namely protraction treatment then fixed straight wire appliance, and before and after treatment cephalometric Results SNA angle increased by 3.1 degrees, the ANB angle increases by 3.2 degrees,SN-MP angle increased by 3.3 degrees,U1-NA distance increased by 2.2mm,U1-L1 angle increases by 4 degrees,P0.05 The difference was statistically significant. Conclusion Protraction appliance can promote early permanent maxillary lift before crossbite, improve patient face with fixed double.
