Selection of Leading Industry of Resource-dependent Cities Based on the Factor Analysis

Abstract

With the increasing shortage of global resources,the selection of leading industry in resource-dependent becomes a problem concerning with their development in the future.Taking Daqing city as an example,this paper built a model by the way of factor analysis to seek the leading industry of Daqing city.As a result,some new material industries are proposed as the leading industry,including the oil and natural gas industry and other five industries.Such research may provide theoretical basis for the policies decision of the government.
