Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of pulsed-field gel electrophoresis(PFGE) in the typing identification of salmonella. Methods PFGE method was used to 68 salmonella strains molecular typing identification isolated from food poisoning. Results 68 strains of salmonella enteritidis identified by traditional biochemical and the serotyping from 180 specimens, after typing by PFGE,14 electrophoretic bands were produced, and had the same molecular weight. The data was analyzed by BioNumerics software, clustering trees were obtained. The similarity of fingerprints was 100% in 68 salmonella enteritidis,65.65% similarity with the H9812.Conclusion PFGE is an effective means in the typing identification of Salmonella, and can be used to trace the source of infection in bacterial food poisoning.
