Abstract

Several segregating populations derived from cytoplasmic male sterile(CMS) line 'Jin A' and its restorer lines were employed to analyze the inheritance and map the fertility restorer(Rf) gene. The ratios of segregation of Rf gene were 3∶1 and 1∶1 in F2 and BC1 population, respectively, which confirmed the fertility restorer character was controlled by one dominant gene.A linkage group covered 82.1 cM was constructed with 9 SSR markers and 4 STS markers.Rf gene was mapped in chromosome 19(D08).The nearest markers beside Rf gene were CM042 and CIR179,which have a distance of 5.4 cM and 10.3 cM to Rf gene, respectively.Validation with seven male sterile lines,4 maintainer lines and 10 fertility restorer lines suggests that these molecular marker could be used directly in 'Jin A' fertility restorer lines breeding program by marker assistant selection(MAS).
