Abstract
Objective To investigate and assess the PDN-SOLO TM artificial nucleus replacement for lumbar disc protrusion. Method 22 cases of lumbar disc protrusion underwent the procedure of PDN-SOLO TM artificial nucleus replacement including 13 cases at L4~5 and 9 cases at L5S1. Result According to 3 months follow-up in all cases, 22 cases were freed from backleg pain after surgery and able to walk over 2 000 m, 2 cases had minor pain relief but not significant. The excellent rate of surgery was 90.9% without peri-operative complications. Conclusion Intervertebral disc can be anatomically and functionally rebuild with PDN-SOLO TM artificial nucleus replacement, which greatly lower the risk of long-term complication resulting from the excision of nucleus pulposus.
