Developing Professionalization and Specialization of College Counselors in Jiangsu Province: Practice and Reflection

In the new situation,professionalization and specialization are the necessary choices for the development of college counselor teams.In full knowledge of the present development of professionalization and specialization of college counselors in China,this writer analyses the achievements and the existing problems of this program in Jiangsu Province.This article stresses the connotation and the cultivating goals of professionalization and specialization of the counselors.Strategies and advices are put forward as follows: perfecting the mechanisms of recruitment,management,training and development of counselors;broadening academic study so as to step up academic development of the counselor profession.Therefore,building professionalization and specialization of Chinese counselors can be readily speeded up both theoretically and practically.
