Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical features of endobronchial tuberculosis(EBTB). Methods Clinical symptoms, chest X-ray and fiber-bronchoscopy findings of EBTB were analyzed. Results Bronchoscopy showed normal-like demonstrations in 9%,exudative lesions in 37%, granulomatous lesions in 16%, cicatricial lesions in 26%, ulcerative lesions in 12%. Positive results were found in 10 out of 78 by sputum acid-fast staining, 69 out of 86 by bronchoscopic brushing smear, and 24 out of 62 by bronchial biopsies. Conclusion The clinical features of EBTB are non-specific, bronchoscopy plays an important role in diagnosis of the disease.
