Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical features and confirmed diagnosis technique of endobronchial tuberculos(EBTB).Methods Clinical symptoms, chest X-ray/CT manifestations and fiberoptic bronchoscopic findings of 22 cases with EBTB were analyzed. Results Main symptoms of 22 cases were as follows: cough in 22 cases, fever in 8,haemoptysis in12,weight loss in 9,dyspnea in2,etc.They were similar with the clinical features of pulmonary tuberculosis.7cases in chest X-ray were normal.Bronchoscopic resuls showed exudative lesions in 40.9% of the cases ,cicatyicial lesions in 36.4%,ulcerative lesions in 16.2%,granulomatous lesions in 6.5%.Positive results were found in 16 out of the cases by bronchoscopic brushing smears ,and 8 out of the cases by bronchial biopsies. Conclusions The clinical features of EBTB are non-specific,and EBTB can not be excluded only by normal chest X-ray findings, the bronchoscopy plays is an important role in definite diagnosis of the disease.Fiberoptic bronchoscopic brushing examination for acid-fast bacillus and bronchial biopsy is beneficial to confirmed definite diagnosis of EBTB.
