Abstract
Objective To investigate the hand hygiene of nursing workers at the centers of community health services,aiming at finding out the problems and proposing the improved measures.Methods Using the self-designed questionnaire to analyse the hand hygiene condition and handwashing facilities of nursing workers at four different centers of community health services in Pudong New District of Shanghai from June to September 2009.Results Few workers knew about the importance of hand hygiene,and 53.06% had no any idea about the handwashing protocol.The handwashing rates were 21.43%,69.39%,11.22% and 86.73% respectively,before and after touching patients,on the interval of touching different patients and after off duty.Conclusion The hand hygiene of nursing workers has important significance in the control of nosocomial infections.The supervisors should strengthen the management of their hand hygiene and pay more attention to the related training for them,thus leading to the control of nosocomial infections.
