AIDS Knowledge,Attitude and Behavior Among Town and Rural Residents and Officials

OBJECTIVE To understand the knowledge,attitudes,and behavior towards AIDS among town,rural residents and the local officials in the coastal regions of Fujian province.METHODS A questionnaire survey was conducted among 835 town and rural residents and the local officials in county,Fujian province by using random sampling.RESULTS The lower the educational level,the less knowledge about AIDS,the lower the correct attitude rate and correct behavior rate,and the more fear of AIDS,the correct knowledge,attitude,and behavior rates about AIDS among the three populations can be arranged in sequence of quality as in official,the residents of the town,and rural residents.CONCLUSION Integration between systematic and target should be very important for health education of AIDS in the widely sense of prevention and control.Health education of AIDS can help people change their attitude through fear reduction on AIDS infected persons.Because public official to AIDS overall comprehension will have an important positive feedback function to AIDS the prevention and control,for this,at the time of carrying on the health education to the residents,should the enlargement educate healthly to the local official of strength.
