Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To study the protective effects of Shehuang ganyan decoction against acute hepatic injury in mice.METHODS:The model of CCl4-induced acute hepatic injury was set up in mice, and then treated with Shehuang ganyan decoction to observe the activities of ALT and AST in serum and the levels of SOD and MDA in hepatic tissue. The variations of liver histopathology were also observed by electron microscope.RESULTS:Shehuang ganyan decoction 60 g·kg-1 and 40 g·kg-1 markedly decreased the activities of ALT and AST.The same dose also significantly reduced the expression of MDA and enhanced the activity of SOD in liver tissue homogenates. The results of HE staining showed that Shehuang ganyan decoction could markedly reduce the pathological injury of liver tissue.CONCLUSION:The results suggest that Shehuang ganyan decoction might exert anti-acute acute hepatic injury induced by CCl4 in mice.
