Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlations between the serum sex hormones and lipid metabolism or cardiovascular disease in menopausal women.Methods: 100 cases of premenopausal and postmenopausal women aged 45~55 were divided into two groups: one group was 50 cases of premenopausal women;the other group was 50 cases of postmenopausal women.The sex hormones and lipid levels in serum were measured.And the correlations were statistically analyzed.The incidences of cardiovascular diseases of the two groups were observed.Results: The levels of estradiol(E2) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) in serum of postmenopausal women were lower than that of premenopausal women.The difference was statistically significant(P0.01 or P 0.05).However,the follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),corpus luteum(LH),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and TG/HDL-C,LDL-C/HDL-C in serum of postmenopausal women were higher than that of premenopausal women.The difference was statistically significant(P0.01 or P0.05).The correlations between the levels E2 and TC,TG or LDL-C in postmenopausal women were negative,compared with premenopausal women.The incidence of coronary heart disease(CHD) in the postmenopausal group was obviously higher than that in the premenopausal group.The difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion: E2 and HDL-C in postmenopausal women drop,while FSH,LH,TC,TG,LDL-C,TG/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C in postmenopausal women are elevated;the incidence of CHD increase.The results suggest there are the correlations between the serum sex hormones in postmenopausal women and lipid metabolism or cardiovascular disease.
