Abstract
Objective: To explore the significance of chromosomal technology in etiological diagnosis of habitual abortion. Methods: The samples of chromosome in lymphocytes of peripheral blood were prepared,G banding and karyotype analysis were used to study the expression of fragile sites. Results: 40 cases were found with abnormal karyotypes among 318 cases with habitual abortion, the detection rate was 12. 58% ,including 9 Robertsonian translocation carriers and 31 balanced translocation carriers. The frequencies of fragile sites in study group and control group were 15. 28 % and 4. 69% ,there was significant difference ( P 0. 01) . Conclusion: Chromosome abnormality is an important cause of habitual abortion, habitual abortion is related to increase of chromosomal fragile sites frequency.
