QTL Analysis on the Flowering Related Traits in Maize

Abstract

One hundred and ninety-one F2 individuals derived from the cross,Mo17×Huangzao 4,were genotyped by SSR and AFLP markers to construct the genetic linkage map,and 184 corresponding F2∶3 families were phenotyped for maize (Zea mays L.) anthesis,silking and ASI.A mixed linear model approach and its software,QTLmapper/V2.0,were used to detect QTLs with main effect,QTLs involved in digenic interactions and Q×E interactions.Total of 13 anthesis QTL,7 silking QTL and 5 ASI QTL,were mapped in two environments.Epistatic loci including 3 pairs of anthesis,17 pairs of silk and 5 pairs of ASI were found too.Meanwhile,3 QTL of anthesis,3 QTL of silking,2 QTL of ASI,1 pair of digenic epistatic loci of anthesis,3 pairs of digenic epistatic loci of silking and 2 pairs of digenic epistatic loci of ASI were detected to interact with environment.By comparing all kinds of genetic components contributing to phenotypic variation of flowering related traits the conclusion is that additive,partial dominance and epistasis effects were important genetic basis.
