Abstract
Objective To discuss the value of 64 slice spiral CT angiography with multi-phase merge imaging technique in the assessment of the degree of portal hypertension and its collateral circulation.Materials and Methods Contrast enhanced abdominal scanning was performed with 64-slice spiral CT in 80 cases with portal hypertesion.CT portography of all cases were done with portal vein phase imaging and multi-phase merge imaging respectively. All CTA images were reviewed by two radiologists to assess the definition, grade of portal vein and the opening of collateral circulation of portal hypertension. Results CT portography with multi-phase merge imaging technique was superior to CT portography with portal vein phase imaging in the definition portal vein of 1-4 grade, statistical significant difference was found between two groups(P0.05).In the demonstration of the branch of portal vein, there was statistical significant difference between two groups in demonstrating 2-5 grade(P0.05),but there was no difference in demonstrating 1 and 6 grade portal vein respectively.CT portography with multi-phase merge imaging technique was also more effectively than CT portography with portal vein phase imaging in showing collateral vessels of portal hypertension. Conclusion CT portography with multi-phase merge imaging can show more clearly the portal vein and collateral vessels, and evaluate more accurately the portal hypertension.
