Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of portal vein image reconstruction techniques in diagnosis of portal vein diseases using 64-slice spiral CT.Methods Sixty cases of portal vein diseases were undergone portal vein image reconstruction with 64-slice spiral CT,including multiplanar reconstruction(MPR),maximum intensity projection(MIP) and volume rendering(VR).Results Among 60 cases, hepatic artery portal fistula 5 cases, portal vein embolism 41 cases, portal sponge degeneration 1 cases,8 cases collateral vessel with liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension, and the portal invasion by adjacent lesion 5 cases.MIP and VR clearly showed lesion in the main portal vein, portal branches vessles and the portal invasion by adjacent lesion;MPR directly showed the whole shape, the extent and lumen narrowing. Conclusion The portal vein image reconstruction technique is an effective method in diagnosis of portal vein diseases.
