Abstract
Objective To study the association of serum levels of 8-iso-prostaglandin F2α(8-iso-PGF2α) and high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) with type 2 diabetic nephropathy. Methods According to the urine albumin excretion rate(UAER),91 patients with type 2 diabetic mellitus were divided into normal-albuminuria group(N-A group: UAER20 μg/min),micro-albuminuria group(M-A group: UAER 20-200 μg/min) and bulk-proteinuria group(B-P group: UAER200 μg/min),and 15 healthy subjects served as controls. The serum level of 8-iso-PGF2α was measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and that of hs-CRP by radioimmunoassay. Results Serum levels of 8-iso-PGF2α and hs-CRP in the three diabetes groups were all significantly higher than that in the healthy controls(F=59.82,57.49;q=8.16-17.92;P0.01),and that of the diabetes groups were gradually elevated, showing statistically different among the three groups(q=8.57-15.47,P0.01).Conclusion The changes of serum levels of 8-iso-PGF2α and hs-CRP are closely related to the development of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.
