Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical application of CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic aspiration biopsy. Material and Methods: Between March 2002 and December 2005, CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic aspiration biopsy was performed in 39 patients, all of which had surgical pathology or clinical follow-up. Results: 37 of 39 patients have f inal diagnoses. CT-guided biopsy showed 94.8%(37/39) overall accuracy, complications included pneumothorax in 2 of 39 patients;minor pulmonary hemorrhage in 2 of 39 patients. Conclusion: CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic aspiration biopsy was a safe and eff itive method for diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
