Abstract
In this study, body weight and body size traits at 330 days of age of 100 healthy Bian chickens(50 cock and 50 hen)of seven generation in the same management conditions were measured and analyzed. The results showed that body weight and body diagonal length, tibia length, tibia girth, head girth, chest width in the hen had highly positive correlation(P0.01), especially the correlation coefficient between body weight and body diagonal length(0.638)was the highest of all, but body weight and chest width, keel length had no correlation. There were highly positive correlation in the cock between body weight and body diagonal length, chest width, keel length, tibia length, tibia girth, head girth, chest depth(P0.01), especially the correlation coefficient between body weight and tibia length(0.755)was the highest of all. There were also positive or negative correlation among other body size traits. Comprehensive analysis showed that breeding work of Bian chicken will give priority to body diagonal length and tibia girth in the hen, and tibia length and body diagonal length in the cock in the future.
