On somatotype of Han in Shijiang country of Jiangxi

Object:To study the somatotype of Jiangxi adults,the Heath-Carter method was used to study the somatotype of 398 rural adults(203 mals and 195 femals) of Han in Shijiang country of Fengcheng city in Jiangxi province.The mean somatotype values of the male and female were 3.67-5.37-1.86 and 5.16-5.20-1.19 in rural respectively,which respresent the endomorphic mesomorph category in male and endomorph-mesomorph category in female.The age changes of somatotype in male and female are: the age of 30 was cutoff point of somatotype in male,which showed somatotype differences before and after the age of 30;The age of 40 was cutoff point of somatotype in female,which showed somatotype differences before and after the age of 40.The somatotype of rural adults of Han showed significant differences between gender except for 30 years old.Compared with the other rural groups,the mean somatotype of male and female were similar to that of Han in Shandong country and far away with Zhuang nationality.
