Abstract
Objective To investigate expression and significance of p27 protein in colorectal carcinoma. Methods Immunohisto-chemical staining(S-P method) for p27 protein was performed in 40 colorectal carcinoma and 35 normal mucosa. Results Significantdifference of p27 protein express was found between normal mucosa(97.1%) and colorectal carcinoma(55.0%)(P0.01).p27lowexpression in colorectal carcinoma was significantly associated with high-grade histology(P0.05),lymph node metastasis(P0.05) and late TNM stage(P0.05).Conclusion p27 protein plays an important role in carcinogenesis of colorectal carcinoma.Protein examination of p27 assists in evaluating the malignant degree and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.
