Abstract
Purpose: To study the relationship between the expression of p53 proteins in gastric carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma and its clinicopathological factors. Method: p53 proteins were examined by immunohistochemistry of S P method in surgical specimens from 20 case of gastric carcinoma and 39 case of colorectal carcinoma. Results: The positive expression of p53 proteins in these gastric and colorectal carcinoma specimens is demonstrated on the nuclei, the positive expression in gastric carcinoma was 80%(16/20), 48.7% (19/39)in colorectal carcinoma. Conclusions: The positive expression of p53 proteins was related to the differentiation of the tumors and the metastasis status of lymph node ( P 0.05),and there was no relation with the depth of tumor invasion( P 0.05).
