Application analysis on different serologic tests of senile syphilis

Objective To analyze the application of TP-ELISA,TRUST and TPPA in the detection of senile syphilis.Methods The syphilis samples were first screened by ELISA,and TRUST and TPPA were performed on the positive samples.Results Out of the 135 positive syphilis samples detected by ELISA,119 samples were confirmed to be positive by TPPA,the positive coincidence rate was 88.14%;the 53 positive samples by TRUST were confirmed to be positive by TPPA while 66 samples out of the 82 negative samples by TRUST were confirmed to be positive by TPPA,the other 16 samples negative.Conclusion There exists a certain ratio of false positive samples in screening senile syphilis by ELISA,it is necessary to perform TRUST and TPPA on the positive samples at the same time so as to avoid misdiagnosis and medical disputes.
