Abstract
Objective To summarize the distribution of 35 strains of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia infection and its antibiotic-resistance characteristics. Methods To cultivate and separate the sputum, hydrothorax from hospitalized patients by general methods, and identified by VITEK-32 System of drug-susceptibility.The results were assessed with CLSI.Results Stenotrophomonas maltophilia strains were mainly distributed in the ICU ward and Department of Respiration. The highest appearing rate was the sputum(91.4%) and the resistance rates to levofloxacin, compound sulfamethoxazole, ciprofloxacin were 29.4%,51.4% and 71.4%,respectively.The resistance rates of the other 17 tested antibiotics were more than 90%.Conclusion The case of the antibiotic-resistant of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia was serious and the key to control the infection was to lessen unreasonable use of antibiotics.
