Therapeutic Effect of Trimetazidine in Treating Patients with Chronic Congestive Heart Failure——84 Cases Report

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of trimetazidine for treatment of patients with chronic congestive heart failure.Methods Eighty-four cases of patients with chronic with heart failure were randomly divided into treatment group(42 cases) and control group(42 cases).The control group was applied conventional anti-heart failure therapy.The treatment group was given trimetazidine(20 mg,three times a day)based on the conventional therapy.After 6 months therapy courses,the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD) and adverse drug reactions of the two groups were evaluated pre and post treatment.Results After 6 months treatment,the treatment group,obvious effective cases 19,effective cases 20,noneffective cases 3;the corresponding numbers of the control group were 11,16,15 respecitvely.The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P0.05).As for the cardiac function indexes,including LVEDD,LVEF,LVESD of the treatment group were better than those of the control group(P0.01);adverse drug reactions were slightly minor in the treatment group.Conclusion Long-term use of trimetazidine can improve cardiac function of patients with chronic congestive heart failure,safely and effectively.
