Abstract

The national value chain theory is a new paradigm in the study of upgrading of industrial cluster. This paper first reviews the classic literatures about upgrading and compares the national and global value chain theory, then takes capital and the state of equipment as an indicator to analyze the technological promotion mechanism of the upgrading of industrial eluster along the national value chain, and finally makes an empirical study on China′s textile industrial clusters.China′s textile industrial clusters took the road of national value chain before 1990s;competitiveness of clusters was cultivated in the development stage of the domestic market. In the process of upgrading, technological innovation makes employees work more decently, while industry transfer creates more employment opportunities, both of them are the economic and social significance of upgrading of industrial cluster along the national value chain.
