Analysis on China's Urban and Rural Residents' Income Gap

Abstract

The income gap between Urban and rural residents has become a serious factor that affects the operation of economy and social stability. Based on the current situation in China, this paper tries to analyze the the income difference between urban and rural residents and the problems we are facing. It also analyzes the urban-rural historial evolution and the reasons that result in this big income gap by probing into the urban and rural dual system, the weakness of agricultural industry, the unreasonalble rural industrial structure, the unreasonable property rights system and the lag of rural finance development. The author also puts forward the countermeasures to narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents in our country.
