Abstract

This paper was to study the effect of the endogenous hormones in sisal on the flower bud differentiation.Agave hybrid No.11648 was used as material for studying the changes of the contents of abscisic acid(ABA),indolylacetic acid(IAA),zeatin(ZT) and gibberellin(GA3) during the flower bud differentiation. The results showed that the contents of ABA and ZT in the shoot tips of sisal No.11648 peaked when flower bud differentiation was initiated, and the contents of GA3 peaked when flower bud differentiation was basically completed, but IAA decreased evidently when flower bud differentiation was going at the mid-stage.The time of the change of the endogenous hormones was coincidently with the time of the flower bud differentiation, which illustrated that the endogenous hormones were severely related with the flower bud differentiation.Low level of GA3 and IAA and high level of ABA,ZT,ABA/GA3,ABA/IAA and ZT/GA3 in shoot tips were beneficial to the flower bud differentiation.
