Abstract

Objective To evaluate clinical applications in restoring residual crowns of posterior teeth with fiber posts. Methods 114 residual crowds of posterior teeth were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.Experimental group were treated with fiber posts and control group were treated with casting metal posts respectively. Each group was followed up for 1~2 years. Results 3 cases were found loosen, together with 5 teeth fractures in experimental group.5 cases were found loosen, together with 7 teeth fractures in control group. However, there was no significant statistical difference between them. Conclusion There is no significant difference of retention between fiber post and casting metal post.Fiber post presents prospective clinical application in restoring residual crown of posterior teeth.
