Abstract

Objective To evaluate clinic application value of restoring residual crowns of anterior teeth with fiber posts. Methods 147 patients with 160 residual crowns of anterior teeth were randomly divided into group A(80 teeth) and group B(80 teeth),group A were treated with fiber posts and group B were treated with casting metal posts respectively. Each group was followed up for 2 years. Results Dental prosthetic restorations of post crowns in 78 cases of fiber posts of group A were completed with a successful rate of 97.5%,while 72 cases with casting metal posts in group B had a successful rate was 90.0%.Compared the results of two groups, the successful rate was higher in fiber post system repair group than that in casting post and core group(P0.05).Conclusion The application of fiber post to repair residual crown of anterior teeth is simple, convenient and can reduce the root fracture, which may increase the possibility for making teeth again and reduce the number of seeking treatments.
