Abstract

Objective To explore the surgical procedures, safety and clinical effects of laparoscopic incisional hernia neoplasty with the application of patches. Methods Laparoscopic patch neoplasty had been operated on 15 cases of abdominal incisional hernia from May 2008 to May 2009.Results Laparoscopic abdominal adhesions were released and patches were fixed, and incisional hernia repair surgeries were successfully performed on 14 cases. One case was converted to open incisional hernia due to the dense adhesions among intestines, abdominal wall and hernia ring.Ten cases had abdominal repair regional ache(71.4 %),4 cases had serous swelling between hernia rings and patches(28.6 %),and no case had intestinal fistula, death,or surgery-related infection. After postoperative follow-up for 3 to 12 months with an average of 7.5 months, there was no recurrence. Conclusion Most of abdominal incisional hernia can be repaired by hernia staler and fixed patches which had the stitches through the full thickness of abdominal wall, and latent hernia can be found simultaneously. It is a safe and effective minimally invasive surgical method, worthy to be popularized in clinical practice.
