Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between mental health and parental rearing styles in secondary school students of Beijing.Methods Totally 1,893 secondary school students in eight districts of Beijing were measured with Adolescent Self-rating Life Events Check List and Chinese Secondary School Students Mental Heath Scale.Result The results showed that 31.3 % of the secondary school students had some minor mental health problems,and 7% of them had moderate and severe mental stress.Conclusions The condition of the secondary school students' mental health is not optimistic.It is necessary to develop health education on mental health in middle school students,and implement directive individual intervention.
