An Analysis on Food Consumption Differences between Urban and Rural Residents in China

There exist clear consumption differences between urban and rural residents as a result of income difference.This paper analyzes the present food consumption differences based on material consumption quantity and the author thinks there is a difference feature of shortening in the middle and widening at the both heads from grain consumption to lower and higher non-staple consumption due to different consumption emphasis.Suffering from the feature,urban residents are close to the third stage of food consumption,rural residents are still at the first stage.
