Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship of serum calcium and magnesium concentrations and cerebral infarction,then elucidate its clinical significance.Methods The concentration of serum calcium and magnesium was tested on 73 patients of acute cerebral infarction within and after 10 days(recovery period) and on 73 non-infarction people(control group).To compare their concentration changes in acute period,recovery period with that in control group.Results Compared with control group,the serum calcium and magnesium concentration in acute cerebral infarction patients was significantly lower(P0.01),though they were a little increase in convalescence stage,but still lower than those in control group(P0.01).Conclusions Serum calcium and magnesium concentration decreasing in acute cerebral infarction patients was common results from the primary and second cerebral infarctions.The concentration increased with patients' recovery.
