Abstract
Objective To observe changes of serum magnesium and calcium in the patients with acute cerebral infarction and elucidated its clinical significance.Methods We examined the concentrations of serum magnesium and calcium in 72 hours after the onset was determined in 220 patients who were diagnosed with acute cerebral infarction stroke,calculated the clinical nerve deficiency scale in every patient and divided the patients into mild cerebral infarction(group A),moderate cerebral infarction(group B),and severe cerebral infarction(group C) according to the scale,42 healthy controls.Comparison the concentrations of serum magnesium and calcium in the four groups.Results The concentration of serum calcium and magnesium in patients was decreased significantly when compared with the control group (P0.01).The concentration of serum calcium and magnesium was different between the group A,B,C(P0.01).Conclusion The concentration of serum calcium and magnesium in acute cerebral infarction is decreased,and the degree of decrease was related with the clinical nerve deficiency scale.
