Abstract

This paper studied the clinical efficacy of “Yishen Xiezhuo Decoction” in the treatment of chronic renal failure(CRF) and its mechanism. Thirty-two subjects were treated with this Decoction for one year and another 28 subjects were treated with Coated Aldehyde Oxystarch; the clinical symptoms, BUN and Scr were observed. Rat model of glomerulosclerosis by five-sixths nephrectomy were treated respectively by this Decoction and Enalapril for six weeks; the BUN, Scr, IL-6, TNF and pathological changes of residual kidney were detected. Results: In CRF patients, the clinical symptoms improved, BUN and Scr fell obviously after treatment by this Decoction; in experimental study, this Decoction could improve rats' kidney function and relieve kidney impairment, with better effect than Enalapril. It is revealed that this Decoction can improve the clinical symptoms and kidney function, and delay the progression of glomerulosclerosis.
