Abstract
Objective To explore the level of cytokine interleukin 6(IL-6) in the cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) of patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease(CJD) and to investigate the effect of proinflammatory cytokine on the process of CJD.Methods Subjects were divided into CJD,encephalitis and control groups. The level of IL-6 in CSF was measured by ELISA.Results Compared with control group, the levels of IL-6 in CSF of CJD patients were significantly higher. Conclusions The level of proinflammatory IL-6 of CSF is increased in CJD patients, which may play an important role in the process of neural degeneration.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
