Abstract
Objective To analyze the distribution of chromosome abnormalities in 72 adult acute leukemia patients and the characteristics of subtypes of karyotype changes, and to compare the curative effect of different chromosome abnormalities patients. Methods The diagnosis of preliminary acute leukemia included detection of morphology, immunology and cytogenetic. All patients were received the conventional chemotherapy. Results 26 cases(36.1%) had normal karyotype,46 cases(63.7%) had abnormal karyotype,of which AML was 63.8%(37/58) and ALL was 66.7%.From the characteristics of abnormal chromosome karyotype, chromosome changes were consistent with M3,the main change was t(15;17),while the other type AL chromosome abnormalities existed inconsistency, especially in M4,M5.The treatment remission were different,in t(15;17) patients were 100%,and in t(8;21) patients were 80%,in normal karyotype patients were 57.7% and in other abnormal karyotype patients were 38.3%.Conclusion Complex karyotype is a marker of poor prognosis. Some special chromosomal abnormalities are related with FAB subtypes.Karyotype analysis plays an important role in diagnosis, classification, treatment and prognostic aspects of AL patients.
