Abstract

Objective To investigate the role of NF KB,NCAM in epileptogenesis of Pentylentetrazol kindling rats. Methods Twenty four Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n =6 in each group): C (control),P 1 (4 d),P 2 (10 d),P 3 (16 d).PTZ (40 mg/kg,intraperitioneal injection, daily) was used to kindle rats and RT PCR to detect the expression of both NF KB and NCAM mRNA in the control group and PTZ group at different time points (4,10,16 d) during kindling. Results During PTZ kindling, the mRNA expression of NF KB and NCAM was continuously increased as compared with that in control without using PTZ ( P 0.05 or P 0.01).Conclusion Both NF KB and NCAM play an important role in epileptogenesis in the process of PTZ kindling rat.It also suggests that the epileptogenesis is closely related to the expression of hippocampus genes and is a complicated pathological process.
