Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of preventive moxibustion at Guanyuan(CV-4),Mingmen(DU-4)on exercise tolerance and myocardium NOS,skeletal and cardiac muscle Na-K-ATPase activity of extreme exercise rats. Methods:Rats were randomly divided into normal control group, exhaustion control group,Guanyuan moxibustion group,Mingmen moxibustion group,Guanyuan moxibustion exhaustion group,Mingmen moxibustion exhaustion group according to their swimming exhausted time. Rats received an exhaustive swimming after 20 days of intervention. Exhausted time of swimming rats were recorded. The NOS and Na-K-ATPase activity of rats were detected. Results:Compared with the normal group, the exhaustion group Na-K-ATPase activity decreased significantly and NOS activity was significantly increased(P 0.05,P 0.01).Preventive moxibustion at Guanyuan(CV-4) or Mingmen(DU-4) had little effect on the enzyme activity(P0.05). Compared with the exhaustion group, preventive moxibustion at Guanyuan(CV-4) or Mingmen(DU-4)significantly increased swimming time of exhausted rats and Na-K-ATPase activity also increased significantly(P 0.05,P 0.01),preventive moxibustion Mingmen(DU-4) was significantly decreased NOS activity and there were significant differences between preventive moxibustion at Guanyuan(CV-4)(P 0.05,P 0.01).Conclusion:Preventive moxibustion at both Mingmen(DU-4) and Guanyuan(CV-4) could improve the exercise tolerance of rats and prolong their swimming exhausted time. The mechanism may be adjusted NOS and excited Na-K-ATPase activity.
